UX Designer - TRANZACT

In the time it takes you to read this, TRANZACT has already generated thousands of leads for some of the top insurance brands in the country – and we’re just getting started!

If you’re looking to join a rapidly growing company that is reinventing the relationship between consumers and insurance (AKA: shaking things up), you’re in luck!

We’re looking for an energetic UX Designer to join our growing User Experience team. In this position, you will be working with internal stakeholders and users to construct mind-blowingly simple and powerful tools for our sales teams.

What we do & how we do it

In a nutshell: We create better lives for tomorrow by making insurance easy today.

How we pull it off: We work with some of America’s largest insurance brands to attract, educate, and connect with consumers through thoughtful and effective marketing.

As an industry leader in the insurance space, we are consistently awarded Partner of the Year from top brands like Aflac and Humana, and our work has been featured in:

  • The Wall Street Journal
  • Forbes
  • Vox
  • Fortune
  • CNBC
  • And more

What you’ll do

This UX Designer role will be focused on operationalizing TRANZACT's complex internal processes into robust and efficient software tools, reporting to the leader of UX for our internal products. A successful candidate will be someone who can operate with autonomy and lead the discovery, ideation, and design of new efforts. Strong UI skills are essential, but more emphasis will be on identifying and solving problems the business and its users face. This includes delivering iteratively with quick wins that drive value to the users and the company while aiming at an overall strategic product vision. UX is a growing discipline at TRANZACT, with a focus from the top-down on building an intuitive and powerful software suite that enables our internal teams to be outfitted with the best tools for the job. This position will be one of the early hires for the UX Team, giving it much influence on design systems, processes, and much more as we develop the UX practice at TRANZACT.

To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working across globally distributed teams and domains to drive UX influence on projects. Be passionate about taking complex requirements and visualizing a simple and elegant user experience in our enterprise software tools. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and users to understand the needs and propose thoughtful approaches to addressing key challenges. UX and our developing Product Management Teamwork hand-in-hand, meaning that you are working early on to influence features and requirements rather than being handed instructions. Our team values inclusion, diversity, and collaboration and fosters ongoing personal and professional development. This role allows the ideal candidate to evolve their career and grow with TRANZACT.

A day in the life
During your day-to-day, you’ll be an integral part of the UX Team with a large focus on:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, product managers, and technology teams throughout the entire product development process.
  • Developing and presenting UX deliverables, including sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs
  • Using product requirements, technical limitations, and user knowledge to create thoughtful and practical designs.
  • Working daily with globally distributed development teams to see the designs brought to life.
  • Keeping up to date on new technologies and UX trends.
  • Maintaining the highest level of ethics and empathy in your design work that promotes inclusion, diversity, and creativity

What you’ll need to land the gig

  • 2-5 Years of User Experience Design experience
  • Expertise with tools like Figma, Sketch, Framer, etc.
  • Digital portfolio that showcases examples of previous work
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to deliver artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, etc.) under tight time constraints
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Complex problem-solving skills (Bring your A game during the interview process)
  • Be able to accept critiques and suggestions gracefully.

Icing on the cake (but not required):

  • Experience designing for B2B or enterprise software
  • Someone in or around the Austin area is preferred, while this role is remote, being able to get together face-to-face for team building events, some one-on-ones, and collaboration offsites would be optimal.
