About the Role 

Reporting to the Director, Business Analysis, the Accountant will help support the Senior Financial Analysts and the broader finance and commercial teams with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and accounting support, while continuing to develop best practices in policies, processes, controls, and documentation.

Responsibilities 

• Partner with New York Office Admin and Corporate Finance team in Toronto to manage the Accounts Payable process
• Prepare commission statements for agents and other participants
• Review contract entry of new deal terms in the contract management system to ensure proper accounting treatment
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for quarterly expense accruals
• Support requests for withholding tax documentation from international partners
• Prepare monthly reconciliation and coding of Peanuts AMEX statement
• Review prepaid expense reconciliation
• Run Great Plains smartlists to help evaluate expenditures for variance analysis and budgeting and forecasting purposes
• Support commercial team and senior management by assisting in preparation of ad hoc analyses and presentations
• Support FP&A function by managing budgeting, forecasting and monthly close process for one of the international territories
• Perform administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications 

• Experience in an accounting or finance role
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Well organized, detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and requests
• Team player who can also work pro-actively and independently in order to meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Great attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and timely records
• Experience with Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software familiarity with Jaguar and West End, an asset
