Wilco is Hiring a Quality Inspector - 3rd shift Near Aurora, OR

Quality Inspector

Summary: Perform a variety of tests, on hazelnuts, to analyze quality and establish grade levels of product from production lines, to determine if the product meets USDA and company standards

Reports To: Team Leader


Responsibilities

  • Sample and inspect hazelnuts for defects and foreign material.
  • Correctly identify quality attributes and record those findings.
  • Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification
  • Notify team leader of findings on a timely basis.
  • Work directly with ODA Inspectors.
  • Follow HAACP procedures and auditing procedures.
  • Follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and safety policies while performing job duties.
  • Clean work area daily.
  • Follow all documented procedures.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.

Special Skills/Training

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English. (Without an interpreter)
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
  • Good work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Contribute to a team environment leading to productivity improvements.

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prior food processing experience.
  • Prior sorting and QC experience is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Prolonged standing and repetitive bending.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Working Conditions

  • Mostly inside an industrial food grade facility.
  • Smock and hairnet (beard net if necessary) are required within the facility.
  • Occasional outside work is necessary.
  • There is a moderate level of noise while the plant is in production.
