Job Description
1.0 BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for managing the transportation operations at BTC. Hire, train, and supervise transportation employees and manage scheduling of drivers, routes, and shipments to customers.
2.0 REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations.
- Experience preparing and tracking trucks and shipments.
- Familiarity with warehouse and logistics software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to supervise and train staff.
- Problem-solving abilities.
3.0 AUTHORITY
The Transportation Manager has sufficient authority to successfully complete duties, responsibilities, and objectives that are assigned.
4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee transportation department, including assets and employees.
- Supervise scheduling of drivers, trucks, routes and shipments.
- Manage performance of employees with emphasis on safety, DOT and HOS compliance, customer service and delivery efficiency
- Lead and coordinate distribution and transportation planning and strategic activities.
- Recruit, interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and mentor delivery drivers.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement and customer service objectives.
