Description

Whole Kids Academy is a warm and vibrant Spanish immersion preschool with nearly a decade of experience serving local families. We take immense pride in nurturing and developing the whole child as we work towards our goal of helping children grow as strong, independent thinkers in a warm and loving environment. Our school is home to an incredibly connected and invested community, where children, teachers and families learn, grow and thrive together.

We are in search of dynamic educators to join our team and provide a holistic education to young children. Our educators work to instill a loving, community while nurturing happy, healthy, resilient children who love to learn and are eager to explore life’s wonder and possibilities. The right candidate will be exceptionally passionate about early childhood education, and will share our team’s values. All members of our team must be incredibly organized, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.

The key functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing a warm, safe, and well-supervised environment with lots of love, hugs, care and attention provided to each child, team member and classroom community. We give big bear hugs to each child in our classroom every day, comfort children when they are feeling sad or scared, laugh when they do something funny and dole out hi-fives and happy dances when we have a reason to celebrate!
  • Build relationships with each individual child and family, provide good communication to parents during drop off, pick up and/or prompt responses to electronic communication. Partner with the classroom teacher to thoroughly understand classroom and individual children’s goals for the school year and help each individual child reach their full potential through supporting enriching learning experiences for children.
  • Being a dependable and responsible Support Teacher by fully engaging in play with children each day, asking great questions of your classroom teacher, understanding the needs of your class and always willing to pitch in and provide a helping hand, prepping materials for activities, preparing for special events and more!

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Candidate with an associate’s degree in early childhood education (or a related field) or who has completed some coursework with MSDE including 45 Hour Child Growth and Development and 45 Hour Pre-Service Training for Preschool and additional courses.
  • At least two years’ experience in a school or childcare setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Native Spanish language is required.
  • Per MSDE licensing regulations, all applicants are required to successfully complete a state and federal background check as well as a medical clearance to safely perform all expected job duties.
