WHOLE FOODS MARKET is Hiring a Senior Human Resources Manager Near Emeryville, CA

The Human Resources Sr. Manager (Senior Team Leader, Team Member Services Business Partner) will assist the Team Member Services Executive Leader (TMSEL) with all functions of Team Member Services (Human Resources, TMS) for the region. They will report directly to TMSEL and assist with the leadership of the Regional TMS team. This position is based out of our Northern California Regional Offices in Emeryville, CA. This position does have direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • The HR Sr. Manager will oversee the following functions within the region: Payroll, HR Operations, Benefits, LOA, Worker’s Comp, Legal, Compensation, Special Projects, Lead and Compliance.
  • Assist the Team Member Services Executive Leader with leadership and all Team Member Services and human resource activities for the Region including but not limited to: legal, recruitment, employee relations, safety, workers’ compensation, administration, benefits, leadership coaching, workforce planning, and training and development.
  • Primary business partner to regional office team members
  • Guide, participate and advise in Regional Team Member relations issues in a timely manner, providing conflict resolution adhering to company policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Ensure team is educated on new laws and changes to the legal/compliance landscape.
  • Partner in creating, communicating, updating, and enforcing directives, policies and guidelines to Regional Team Members.
  • Serve as key liaison between Regional TMS, the stores, and facilities.
  • Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation with Regional leadership.
  • In absence of TMSEL, leads the TMS function for the region.
  • Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries; develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements.
  • Partner with global team to help drive and lead company-wide TMS initiatives.
  • Provide project management including proposals, goal achievement, communication, and coordination.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR preferred
  • Senior level HR (4 years)
  • Leadership/management
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, detail oriented
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work across several functions to complete work and foster teamwork.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to apply policies fairly and consistently while accepting variations in case by case situations
  • Detail oriented with a sense of urgency, organized, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently as well as on a team, ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local labor, wage and employment laws
  • Ability to use the following: phone, computer, headset, 10-key, personal protective equipment, most office equipment
  • Exhibit ability to handle sensitive and confidential information/documents in a trustworthy manner
