SUMMARY The Family Birth Center Registered Nurse assists families throughout the birth process as well as provides direct care for patients ranging from neonates to older adults. Responsibilities include assisting, supporting and educating patients and their family members of the process of their illness, the treatment plan, and discharge plan. The position will care for women both during normal and problematic pregnancies, providing guidance and hands on clinical care. This position adheres to physician orders and properly documents in patients records, also being a valuable resource for the whole family during the period following the birth. The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds. The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation.
