WHMC Human Resources is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist - Full Time (Day) Near Colfax, WA

The HR Generalist works under the general direction of the Manager of Human Resources to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This position works closely with leadership and staff to support the employee life cycle from recruitment to offboarding, maintains records in compliance with all applicable requirements, prepares and participates in a variety of reporting, and functions as a subject matter expert for the HRIS system. This position will also take on responsibilities in payroll, benefits, leave, and/or ADA administration. Add-on compensation for hourly positions rewards additional training and education. Differentials apply for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual is based on hours worked and encompasses holiday, sick, and vacation time. Full time employees (80 hours per pay period) can accrue 23 8-hour PTO days per year, which increases with longevity. Responds to communications in a timely manner. Performs Duties Efficiently and Effectively Assists in development of department procedures and competencies and training of staff. Functions as the area resource and Subject Matter Expert. Acts in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Support Partners with assigned leaders to support the needs of their area. Coordinates with leaders to identify upcoming needs. Provides timely support to staff and leaders with HR-related questions, and assists with direction to appropriate resources as applicable. Employee Life Cycle Provides full service recruitment support. Participates in new employee onboarding and orientation. Monitors compliance of employee job requirements, such as education and credential compliance. Tracks and records evaluation compliance. Supports and ensures accurate documentation for employee changes. Offboards separating employees. Records Management & Compliance Maintains records in compliance with applicable requirements, including but not limited to employee personnel files, medical files, leave files, student compliance files, and traveler compliance files. Ensures notifications, such as labor law postings, are maintained and updated as required. Responds to requests for employment verifications. Maintains up-to-date job knowledge by participating in professional organizations, maintaining personal networks, reading professional publications and participating in continuing education. Performs regular audits to ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and local regulations, and established policies and procedures, as well as industry best practices. Specialty Areas Assumes responsibilities in at least two specialty areas: Payroll administration Benefits administration Leave administration ADA administration Reporting Participates as assigned to state, federal, and local compliance surveys and reports by established due dates. Prepares reports as assigned. HRIS Serves as subject matter expert for the HRIS system. Participates in upgrades and implementation of the HRIS system. Required Qualifications At least four years of progressive experience in Human Resources. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management or other related field from an accredited college or university, or at least six years of progressive experience in Human Resources. At least one year of experience with maintenance and administration of HRIS. At least two years of experience in at least two of the following areas: Recruiting Employee Change Management Payroll Administration Benefits Administration Leave Administration ADA Administration Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in the healthcare environment.
