WHMC Human Resources is Hiring a House Supervisor - Part Time (Weekend - Night) Near Colfax, WA

The House Supervisor provides excellent leadership, time management skills, supervisory abilities, as well as analytical thinking skills to the organization representing the administrative team. She/he is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of activities in all patient care areas during his/her assigned shift. Throughout the course of shift the House Supervisor supervises clinical staff and hospital ancillary staff when necessary. The House Supervisor contacts/interacts with patients, families, medical staff, multidisciplinary team, and all facility staff, as well as facilitates admissions to and transfers from WHMC. Position Details Part Time24 hours per pay period (two weeks)Night ShiftWeekends Creates a Positive Working Environment Builds and maintains a positive atmosphere in line with organization’s mission, vision, values and standards of behavior. Assists in the resolution of difficult interpersonal situations. Holds staff accountable to organizational policy. Partners with other leaders to improve inter-department processes. Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. Participates in committees as assigned. Communicates Effectively Builds relationships and works collaboratively with other staff. Provides timely operational updates to supervisor. Conducts routine meetings with staff and encourages an exchange of information. Responds to communications in a timely manner. Operates an Efficient and Effective Department Provides input into the development of department policy. Assists in identifying and initiating department process improvements. Measures and monitors staff productivity. Procures or requests necessary resources to efficiently provide services. Routinely performs front line staff duties. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Facility Management Administers and coordinates an effective distribution and utilization of staff and services during their shift based on patient acuity and staff experience, as well as providing support to staff. Rounds on all departments to assess for any needs and facility security checks each shift. At beginning and end of shift conduct shift change reports with this information. Communicates appropriately with the Administrative Team as well as the Administrator on-call while maintaining the highest level of awareness and responsiveness to all aspects of organization management. Exhibits excellent customer care techniques to internal and external customers. Participates in leadership meetings and committees both voluntarily and as assigned and assists with the implementation and interpretation of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for personnel, patients, medical staff and the public. Works closely with Staffing Scheduler to coordinate an effective distribution and utilization of staff and services during their shift based on patient acuity and staff experience, as well as providing support to staff. Safety/Security Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. Attends table top exercises, acting as Incident Commander as needed. Possesses a familiarity with the hospital environment of care codes including appropriate responses and leads the organization as assigned. Confidently makes announcements using the overhead paging system. Accurately looks up specific products in the MSDS on-line system. Infection Control/Employee Health Utilizes all organization and patient care infection control policies and standards. Demonstrates knowledge of standard precautions and aseptic technique. Locates, distributes and utilizes personal protective equipment as applicable. Follows infection control plan, cooperates with required testing. Reports exposures promptly and seeks assistance for care/follow-up. Patient Care Performs direct patient care within scope of RN practice act and according to organization policies and procedures, when needed, in the Nursing Departments. Identifies educational needs, implements and evaluates learning, and documents patient / family education for all educational needs. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors. Demonstrates knowledge level necessary to assess patient’s psychosocial, educational and physical needs, and the knowledge and skill to address these needs in an age appropriate manner for all age groups. Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and document competency. Required Qualifications Active RN licensure in the state of Washington. Minimum 5 years inpatient experience. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified through the AHA within thirty days of hire and maintained while employed. TNCC certified through ENA within 12 months. Experience using Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation and Provider EMR support. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Incident Management System (NIMS) on-line courses 100, 200 and 700 within thirty days of hire. Preferred Qualifications BSN Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Prior management experience or charge nurse experience.
