Ensures the security, safety and well-being of all staff, vendors, visitors and guests.
Essential Functions:
1. Patrols assigned area on foot, in assigned motor vehicle, or other special vehicle to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
2. Investigates and reports safety incidents, accidents and occurrences.
3. Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.
4. Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
5. Provides escort services for visitors and staff when necessary.
6. Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
7. Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious persons and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and/or detain violators, as required, until police arrive.
8. Performs periodic checks of emergency call boxes and/or street lights to ensure proper functioning; reports malfunctions as required.
9. Prepares routine, standardized reports.
10. Recognizes and resolves guest complaints and concerns.
11. Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.
12. Performs special projects delegated by management.
13. Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1 to 2 years security experience; excellent people and communication skills. Proven experience providing security service and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new security and safety programs and services. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
