The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Mechanic's is responsible for ensuring his work fulfills the needs and goals of our quality, production, safety and loss control systems in order to create a climate which leads to job security, improved working conditions.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
• The Maintenance Mechanic shall promote safe working practices in a safe and orderly environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Be responsible for the general maintenance of all plant property and machinery to ensure consistent production of a quality product.
• Be responsible for communicating, executing and meeting all quality goals by following the approved systems set out by the Company and for contributing ideas for improvements to these systems where possible.
• Upon direction of the Supervisor, perform scheduled PM’s and record results and information in the appropriate format.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• At least three to five years prior experience in mechanical position in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to travel.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and night shift if necessary.
• Able to function well as a team member.
• Have analytical and problem solving skills.
• Have a working understanding of OSHA regulations.
