In February 2021, Wheels Up entered into a merger agreement with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) called Aspirational Consumer Lifestyle Corp. to become a publicly traded company. At that time, Wheels Up was appraised at an enterprise valuation north of $2B. In January 2020, we entered a groundbreaking partnership with Delta, which combined Delta Private Jets to expand our fleet and offer guaranteed nationwide coverage. This enabled us to provide unparalleled experiences across private and commercial air travel. We also acquired our longtime partner Gama Aviation in March 2020, making us the largest Part 135 operator in the U.S. and one of the world's largest private aviation operators and aircraft management companies. Wheels Up is seeking a Software Development Engineer 2 to help us build and scale this revolutionary platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software engineering, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of product/feature end-to-end for all phases from the development to the production.
• Ensuring the developed features are scalable and highly available with no quality concerns.
• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
• Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring and development of technical talent.
• Contribute intellectual property through patents.
• As a member of the Wheels Up team, you will work closely with the business team to design and implement new features, you will use a variety of core languages and technologies
• Work closely with senior and principal engineers to design, build and deliver quality technology solutions
• The ideal candidate will be a leader, quick learner and be able to work independently. Should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical.
• Experience with open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Pravega, Delta Lake, etc

Qualifications

• Requires 4 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or an advanced degree in related field.
• Expert with C# including object-oriented design.
• Experience with .net framework and .net core
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of the new and current systems.
• Experience with MS SQL database architecture working with stored procedures, triggers, and views
• Experience using Azure services including functions, app services, search services and document db
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, complexity analysis, data structures, problem-solving, and object-oriented analysis
• Strong customer obsession and ownership to drive projects and deliver results.
