Overview

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s consolidated accounting and reporting processes, especially the month, quarter and year-end close process and report directly to the SVP, Controller. The Assistant Controller will also work directly with FP&A and SEC Financial Reporting teams on a daily basis, as well as with other departments and subsidiaries to promote a more efficient and focused financial reporting package. The Assistant Controller will be the key contact with both audit and tax advisors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and consolidation process across the organization on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis while assisting and supporting the drafting of Forms 10-Q and 10-K
• Prepare the monthly internal reporting package for executive and senior leadership teams and present the results and findings
• Manage and lead the Corporate Accounting team and oversee other areas within the accounting organization, such as Revenue Operations/AR, Shared Services/AP and Payroll Operations.
• Will be the key contact for external auditors and internal Tax Director for SEC quarterly reviews and annual audit
• Support the Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting function, as needed, and be the key liaison between the Corporate Accounting team and the Financial Planning and Analysis team, especially with respect to budgeting and forecasting
• Coordinate the process of implementing new standards and accounting changes to ensure the Company is prepared to comply
• Lead the internal reporting function related to the monthly management reporting package and other GAAP and non-GAAP metrics
• Assist the Financial Operations team with the integration of subsidiary finance functions related to M&A transactions
• Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization to increase efficiency within financial reporting
• Work direct with Internal Audit to ensure compliance with SOX across the financial reporting functions
• Participate in ad-hoc projects with various departments, especially sales and business operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• A minimum of 12 years of experience with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and SEC/public company industry experience (Industry experience with technology or luxury services company is a plus)
• An active CPA license
• Technical accounting and SEC reporting experience (10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S-4, 8-K etc.)
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Hyperion, SAP etc., Excel, databases, business analytic applications and complex billing systems, especially proprietary business systems is a plus
• Ability to manage, motivate, and develop other professionals
• Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate within the company at all levels
• Highly analytical mindset, with ability to sort through complex issues and translate and communicate them in a clear, concise manner to internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
