THE CORE OF THE POSITION

The Production Supervisor position is responsible to coordinate and expedite workflow and materials between our on-site shops: CNC machining centers, prototyping, fabrication, sheet metal, welding, plastics and assembly.

Works directly with Engineering to support rapid iteration and product development and also serve as the Continuous Improvement Champion of his/her department, making sure that a problem-solving culture for continuous improvement is fully established and followed.

Products: mechanical, electro-mechanical, optical, lighting, power supplies, control panels, and other mechatronic devices. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Track, monitor, coordinate and expedite production work-flow and movement of raw materials, intermediate components, consumables and finished parts through the production flow to ensure highest quality and on-time delivery
• Review and distribute production work-orders, material shipment, and schedules
• Confer with department supervisors to determine work progress and completion dates
• Performs revisions of production schedules due to backlogs, material or labor shortages, design changes and other forms of interruption, while collaborating with the management, engineering, planning, procurement, and production teams
• Analyze available data and develop metrics to drive optimal and creative results
• Pro-actively track and drive production schedules and deadlines
• Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables and constraints
• Communicate part status and estimated completion dates to leadership
• Support logistics process through innovative staging of workflow
• Assist production leadership and project teams with action item updates as required
• Organize and maintain the physical and electronic library for production related tooling and calibration database as required
• Identify potential risks to performance
• Ensuring that Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-time Delivery and Cost goals are achieved

EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS:

• 5 years of Production Coordination Control and Supervision experience
• Hands on experience with determining processes and troubleshooting issues in a high-mix, low-volume production environment in the areas of sheet metal, welding, machine shops, general fabrication, and finishing
• Self-motivated and able to own problems and drive solutions using company resources
• Excellent critical thinking, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a constantly-changing environment
• Communicate complex ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing across the company hierarchy
