The opportunity:
Responsible for the overall operations of the laminator in a manner which supports the company’s safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.
How you will impact WestRock:
· Effectively operate the laminator following all safety related guidelines.
· Wear and use all required PPE such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses, chemical proof gloves, ear plugs and any other necessary item.
· Effectively operate the laminator following all quality related guidelines.
· Ensure that the cut-off is in the ideal position to provide the best sheet possible and use the de-curl roller as necessary to ensure sheets come out flat.
· Effectively operate the laminator following all operational procedures.
· Adhere to the established schedule for orders.
· Shrink wrap and label all loads properly.
· Complete all required paperwork including a machine log documenting any issues and required inputs into the Radius System. This includes waste, downtime, and production numbers.
· Utilize the DMS process to capture performance issues and track actions.
· Effectively problem solve quality issues that arise stopping the machine to determine the problem and implementing an immediate corrective action. If not solvable, immediately get a supervisor for advisement.
· Work together as a team with other Operators to optimize the output of the machine.
· Report and safety, equipment, or quality issues to the Shift Supervisor.
· Complete all necessary preventative Maintenance activities,
· Stage materials ahead of time to ensure any downtime is minimized.
· Train new Operators as required.
· Performs other job duties as assigned.
· Partner with the management team in determining new applications for the lamination creating value-added enhancements.
