JOB TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE

DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

LOCATION: QUEENS/BROOKLYN

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Associate initiates the hiring process by identifying and screening qualified candidates for employment opportunities. They will work in support of Human Resources Coordinators in supplying candidates to hiring managers in addition to assisting candidates through the hiring process. Overall, this position will provide support in ensuring that our recruitment practices are legally compliant and are consistent with the mission vision and values of Westhab.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Works in conjunction with HR Coordinators to create weekly postings of vacancies.
  • Work closely with HR Director ensure open positions and verify vacancies.
  • Reviews job applications/resumes, screen potential candidates and schedules interviews.
  • Schedules candidates for job fairs and interviews.
  • Sends out onboarding documents and forms to candidates.
  • Collection and verification of documents (license and certifications).
  • Communicating with new hire regarding the onboarding process (location of test and time frame).
  • Communicates with new hires: missing documents, start date, orientation date, where and what time to report.
  • Communicates with HR Coordinators regarding new hire status.
  • Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness.
  • Alternative methods of recruiting should include building relationships with outside agencies such as Colleges, Security Schools, and Unemployment Agencies.
  • Travelling is an essential part of the position, and must be prepared to provide support to other regions outside of Brooklyn/Queens when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree required, Bachelor degree preferred with 2-5 years of HR administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in preparing and managing full cycle recruitment metrics. Microsoft Word and Excel skills required in addition to data tracking and analytical skills.
