Western Express is currently looking for a Service Writer at our Plainfield, CT Maintenance facility. Experience as a service writer is a preferred, any TMT experience is a plus. This is a customer service position, with our drivers and technicians as our customer. Must be polite, courteous, and professional. Schedule: 4 days a week, 7am - 5:30pm Responsibilities would include: · Effectively handle incoming driver requests and assist with driver questions. · Open daily repair orders; work directly with technicians as needed for repairs. (Someone who has a bit of mechanical knowledge would be helpful) · Working knowledge of Transman preferred (VRMS coding knowledge another plus) · Courteous and positive attitude – Communication is a MUST! · Multi-tasking and highly organized as this is a high paced shop. · Working computer knowledge and the ability to type accurately. · Able to complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner (Inspection Reports for DOT, DOT Violations) · Meet commitments and deadlines!
