POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Wellness Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in improving the lives of children and families in our community. You'll have the opportunity to work part-time (with the possibility of transitioning to full-time) with a schedule that aligns with your availability and the needs of the families we serve. You will gain valuable experience in the field of social work/behavioral health. Your primary responsibility will be providing one-on-one support and interaction with children and adolescents, typically after school and/or on weekends, in various settings such as their homes, our office, or community locations. You may find yourself doing crafts, playing games, taking walks, or visiting playgrounds! We will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success in this vital role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Wellness Support Specialist, you will:

  • Arrange recreational and leisure activities to promote social and familial relationships for the child/adolescent.
  • Provide education, support, and skills development tailored to the unique needs of each child or adolescent, including social skills, problem-solving, conflict resolution, emotions/behavior management, and coping skills.
  • Assist the child/adolescent in community activities independently or with natural supports.
  • Maintain accurate records of service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for this position must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Background check
  • Valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and meet our auto insurance coverage requirements.
  • Safely maintained vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations served by Pathway.
