We have created Boise's proper space to gather, offering elevated Western American cuisine, a food and cocktail program to rival them all, and the finest beer in the West; all inside a space housing 4 lanes of mini bowling and skee-ball! Western Proper Bartender

The primary actions of the role include

  • Responsible for pouring beer and wine
  • Crafting cocktails with precise measurements
  • Having exceptional knowledge of classic/house cocktails, beer and wine
  • Service of the bar seating itself
  • Accurately taking and ringing guest orders
  • Communicating with the kitchen regarding any issues including food allergies, etc
  • Accurately taking payment from guests.
  • Clearing tables
  • Bringing food and drinks to guests
  • Cleaning tables after guest departure.
  • Prepping, stocking, and cleaning as necessary before and after service
  • Being an expert in all things Western Collective including but not limited to Western Collective history and heritage, history of brewing and brewing process, the winemaking process, the coffee and craft beer and wine industries, beer, coffee and wine styles and ingredients, and have basic sales knowledge
  • Generate deep brand awareness and positive product passion for Western Collective brands
  • Assess customers’ individual needs and interests in order to best recommend products
  • Be a team player and able to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Other tasks as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Previous bartending experience where liquor is served required
  • Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
  • Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a love for meeting and interacting with people
  • Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative
  • Must adhere to company’s policies and procedures
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods (8 hours or more)
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to manipulate valves and clamps
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 44-pound boxes
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 55-pound bags above waist level
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to lift/move 165 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
  • Able to both work and thrive in a high-stress environment that has a quiet to moderate noise level
  • Able to read and follow written English instructions
  • Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
  • Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
  • Willing to work long days and overtime as needed

Job Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele
  • Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accounted for by the end of the shift
  • Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
  • Identify belligerent customers, and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environment
  • Clean the bar and the surrounding area of spills and other messes as needed
  • Other duties as requested

This Job Is:

  • Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED
  • A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more
  • A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education
  • Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma
