Driver Helper
The Driver Helper assists the Driver in every aspect of product delivery to customer sites in an efficient and safe manner by following all company procedures.
Essential Duties
- Assist with properly loading trucks at the warehouse, and unloading at customer job site(s).
- Helps ensure accurate delivery of product.
- Properly use loading and unloading techniques to ensure safety of self and others and to eliminate damage to product.
- Properly use equipment such as ramps, load-locks, straps, and hand trucks to ensure safety and minimal maintenance costs.
- Provide world class customer service.
- Assists the driver in spotting danger when driving, and provide directions as needed.
- Properly store equipment and supplies in an effort to keep the truck organized.
- Performs checklist of truck to ensure all safety equipment and supplies are available.
- Cleans inside of truck.
- Assists in an emergency with road flares or warning triangles, etc.
- Supports other areas needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Warehouse experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with employees and customers.
- Able to read maps, labels, invoices, and manifests.
- Have mathematical ability, specific to adding, subtracting, and verifying quantities of product.
- Able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, strong customer service orientation, and diligent attention to safety.
Work Environment
Work is performed in several environments including onsite at the company, on the road, and at the customer location.; some time may be spent in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and dust. PPE is required when appropriate. Several hours will be spent driving a delivery truck. High level of social interaction required in order to serve customers. Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
