Western National Insurance is Hiring an Automation Engineer Near Edina, MN

Overview

Western National is excited to announce we are in search of an Automation Engineer to join our Salesforce team! This role offers a candidate the opportunity to play an important part in our company’s software development process. This position will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure the software runs smoothly and meets quality standards. You will get to explore new technical areas while also sharpening your existing skills.

The ideal candidate will have previous QA experience in evaluating and performing required testing on business applications, process improvements, and new technologies. This position works in collaboration with the Agile team in meeting quality objectives, introducing efficiencies, and maximizing test coverage. This person will enjoy being responsible for the design, execution and validation of test cases based on business needs and ensuring quality standards are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation, execution, and maintenance of automated and manual test cases in all stages of application testing to ensure application code is functioning as designed.
  • Experienced in making code more testable, writing test frameworks, and automating tests.
  • Ensure automation is aligned with continuous integration/DevOps efforts.
  • Bring a shift left mentality to the quality practices of the team.
  • Contribute to developing enhancements of quality standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for maximizing test coverage and reducing testing time.
  • Collaborate with product team to develop clear estimates regarding QA activities, deliverables, and communicate related processes across various levels of the organization.
  • Report defects/issues with documentation and recommendations for resolution.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to better understand business requirements and reduce defects.
  • Apply feedback and take ownership of tasks at hand, ability to self-prioritize tasks and execute deliverables within given timeline. Ask for and offer help when needed.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of quality assurance experience.
  • Coding experience with Java or JavaScript.
  • Experience using one of the following automation tools; Selenium, Cypress, Provar, or ACCELQ.
  • Salesforce certification or experience or willingness to learn
  • Experience with Git and version control tools.
  • Exposure to Postman.
  • CI/CD platforms like Jenkins
  • Experience working on an Agile team is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Jira or similar issue tracking software is preferred.
  • Xray or similar testing tool software experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
