This is a mid-level position responsible for helping create a culture where personal safety, food safety, quality, inventory accuracy and good housekeeping are never compromised. This position will also communicate with and provide direction to warehouse personnel. Strict compliance with the facility Food Safety and Quality Management System Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, communicate, and give direction to warehouse personnel.
• Interact with warehouse team members, quality control, and production to maximize output and efficacy.
• Ensure conforming product mix, facilitating efficient order fulfillment, and receiving of raw materials/package goods.
• Maximize space utilization, while monitoring/considering inventory levels and product movement.
• Supervise/perform cycle counts; ensure they occur at the established frequency
• Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility. 
• Run inventory reports on an as needed basis.
• Perform visual validation of received merchandise to description and package details from original purchase order.
• Complete records/quality checks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ensure all outgoing shipments are picked accurately using a pre-printed FIFO Pick Sheet
• Build loads for transport with attention to order accuracy.
• Ensure order is loaded in a manner that adheres to customer profile.
• Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment.
• Complete shipping forms and ensure distribution follows established packing procedures.
• Complete “Hold” tags and other documents in compliance with internal requirements.
• Operate a forklift/stand up reach truck to manipulate material.
• Loads trucks according to written instructions and maintain pallet supplies in the building.
• Organize, maintain, and store packaging materials.
• Supply production line with empty containers, removes full product, and moves to staging area.
• Able to troubleshoot some equipment issues and advise maintenance of needed repairs or preventive care.
• Advise management of any unsafe conditions to assist in providing a safe environment for other workers who walk through the warehouse.
• Follow established standards and maintain Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) at all times.
• Advises appropriate personnel of any unsafe conditions in both plant and warehouse areas.
• Responsible for continuous improvement ideas and implementation in assigned area.
• Participate in team functions as required.
• Must maintain warehouse in an organized and clean manner to ensure safety and GMP’s.
• Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance.
• Maintain a food-safe sanitary environment at all times.
• Escalate any non-conforming product/equipment/material to the appropriate manager/supervisor immediately.
• Follow Company’s quality assurance procedures and protocols at all times while on duty (eg. Labeling of containers, Inventory Control, PM programs).
• Promote a positive proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
• Provide back-up support for other roles, as necessary.
• Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three (3) years' experience working in warehouse environment
• Previous leadership experience in a warehouse environment is preferred. 

Skills

• Communicate well verbally and in writing using the English language.
• Understand plant operational processes and procedures (e.g. routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices).
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as a team.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
• Demonstrated forklift/stand up reach truck operation skills; forklift certification is preferred.
• Proficient with a scan gun.
• Attention to detail as well as a blend of skills and experience that are specifically focused on the inventory management of several hundred SKU’s.
• The ability to communicate and give clear direction to others through phone, email as well as face to face.

Physical Requirments

• Continuously lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Environment

• Continuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts/machinery.
• Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.
• Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.
• Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
