Staff Accountant I at Western Filament, Inc.

$18-$25 an hour

Western Filament is looking for a knowledgeable Staff Accountant I to join our team. We have an immediate full-time position open that offers a unique opportunity for professional growth within our company. We offer a flexible schedule with the option to either work 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts each week.

This position reports to the Controller and assists with a variety of accounting tasks, account reconciliation, and financial analysis as well as develop creative solutions to challenges and focus on continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, organized, and analytical.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform monthly account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Annual W-9 maintenance & 1099 processing
• Accounts Payable processing using 3-way match process
• Field vendor calls regarding status of payments
• Issuing invoices in Accounts Receivable
• Contact Customers regarding collection of past due amounts
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Accounting (Bachelors Preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Skilled with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Experience ERP systems
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with little supervision while still being productive and accurate.
