As an engineer in Western Asset’s IT group, you will be a key technology expert responsible for designing and developing cloud-native and hybrid applications, and delivering solutions for business partners.

The role requires someone who is high-energy, driven, team-focused, detail-oriented, proactive, and highly skilled in software development.

As a scrum team member, you will come up with innovative forward-thinking designs and ensure high-quality delivery of our products through our Agile development process.

We need our engineers to be versatile, creative, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new challenges as we push Western’s technology forward

What you will do

• Play a key role on a dynamic and interactive team, designing and delivering strategic solutions to business partners.
• Work as an integral team member to develop and implement redesign of the global corporate websites
• Develop, support and maintain global corporate websites, including client portal, custom web applications and corporate mobile app.
• Collaborate with the team, product owner and product analyst to independently develop, document, test and implement systems
• Support and enhance existing systems, including providing direct technical support for the business
• Review, analyze and recommend solutions and tools to improve the software development and deployment process.
• Adopt and implement best practices, and champion an engineering culture emphasizing Agile, DevOps and CI/CD principles.
• Learn about and support all applications in the team’s portfolio, cross-train, share knowledge and generally elevate your capabilities and those of the team.
• Provide functional and technical support and expertise during development, implementation, testing of complex projects.
• Collaborate and share knowledge with team members and users.

What you will bring

• Full stack capabilities: Angular front end-preferred, APIs, and databases.
• 3 years of experience with modern Javascript framework, Angular (9 )
• Strong Rxjs Development, Node.js, Javascript (ES5, ES6), TypeScript development experience.
• Experience in Web Technologies (IIS, XML, AJAX, etc)
• Experience with Front End Libraries, Material Design or Bootstrap
• Knowledge of and experience in following best practices and industry standards, in web development, UX/UI, responsive design, accessibly (ADA) compliance and secure coding practices
• Experience in responsive, mobile and progressive web applications
• Experience in mobile application development (Ionic or React Native)
• Experience in developing, supporting and maintaining multi-regional / multi-language websites
• Eagerness to learn about and work on any application in the team’s portfolio.
• Experience in all aspects of application development lifecycle.
• Preferred experience in Web Content Management Systems.
• Preferred experience in designing and writing code for serverless applications.
• Preferred experience in AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices.
• Preferred domain knowledge of financial services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics or other related discipline.
• At least three years’ of related work experience, five years or more preferred
