Western Asset is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near New York, NY

Job Description

As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based in our New York office, you are responsible for the successful leadership and management of the office by partnering with the business on people strategy and working collaboratively with HR colleagues at our Pasadena headquarters and across the globe. As a consultative business partner, you will work closely with Senior management in the New York office and at our headquarters in Southern California. You will provide local leadership to shared administrative and office service resources. To thrive in this role, you possess exceptional multi-disciplinary HR expertise and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and operate with an agile mind set.

What you will do

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders within the Business and develop a deep understanding of their business in order to develop people strategies in support of strategic business goals.
  • Translate business strategy and organizational needs into successful organizational design, talent management and inclusive culture solutions.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality and integrity, building trust with the business and employees.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition in the development of effective recruitment strategies that attract a diverse pool of candidates for opportunities within the organization.
  • Support the employee lifecycle from onboarding, internal employee experience, recognition and rewards, professional development and off-boarding.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues while conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Model a leadership skill set and demonstrate the company’s core values of trust, honesty, diversity, teamwork, collaboration, mutual respect and personal responsibility.
  • Stay ahead of compliance and regulatory changes and support process and training requirements.
  • Develop creative solutions and approaches to ensure a culture that fosters a work environment of belonging and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Contribute to policy development and communicate process to management and employees.
  • Collaborate on enterprise projects (DEI, leadership competency rollout, etc.)

What you will bring

  • Multi-disciplined HR background, with a minimum of five years of significant HR experience, in partnering with, coaching and providing guidance at the Senior Manager/Director level
  • Strong business acumen, demonstrated success in partnering with the business and creating effective human capital solutions
  • Deep understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Exceptional multi-disciplinary HR expertise in the areas of compensation practices, organizational health, employee relations, DEI and effective performance and talent management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively promote ideas and solutions
  • Ability to advise and coach managers and employees ranging from simple to complex issues, including disciplinary actions
  • Strong analytics and technology experience with the ability to leverage data to create solutions for the business
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred 

Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $130,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package. You are also eligible for a discretionary bonus and 100% company paid benefits. Depending on the position, you may also be eligible for short and long-term incentive packages.
