Job Description

We are growing! Westerkamp Group, LLC is an expanding company specializing in Revenue Cycle Management services in the health care industry. We are currently seeking a Denials Analyst in our Birmingham, AL office to provide patient and third party hospital denials follow-up and professional follow-up for our clients.

Job Summary:

The denials analyst works as a member of our client team and is responsible for monitoring denials, appeals, and resolutions from participating insurance carriers.


  • Must have full understanding  insurance follow up processes (Billing, Collections, Credit Balances, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial practices)
  • Ability to review account balances and denials and perform steps to overturn the denials.
  • Ability to adhere to strict compliance guidelines related to HIPAA.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to work with guarantors and various third party insurance departments.
  • Basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-9,and ICD-10 codes. 
  • The ability to work independently and accomplish goals working on a wide variety of special projects within the business office
