Westelcom Internet Inc is Hiring a Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer Near Watertown, NY

Description

  • Engineering support to the operational support pipeline to Support Team.
  • Engineering design and implementation support to Delivery Team
  • Engineering support to corporate MIS Systems (billing, customer management, etc.)
  • Engineering support to management and intelligence platforms
  • Implementation of Network DevOps
  • Customer advocate and solution expert for all top-revenue and high-priority customers
  • Support Executive Director of Sales & Customer Service and account executives with designing communications solutions, product development and product education
  • Support Director of Solution Delivery and NOC Supervisor with service provisioning and installation?
  • Supports Sr Director of Information Systems with maintenance of MIS systems?
  • Support NOC Technicians with level 2 & 3 engineering support?
  • Work with Director of Solution Delivery on support and maintenance of Outside Plant
  • Develop and maintain installation and support operations documentation and procedures
  • Coordinate with management and support weekly training
  • Support and manage network management and intelligence platforms
  • Support and take part in automation efforts
  • Attend seminars & conferences as appropriate
  • Attend weekly engineering meetings
  • Attend quarterly R&D meetings and guide implementation of new product/service development.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or It field and 5 years of professional experience or 8 years professional experience
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and motivate people
  • Ability to travel between site locations.
  • Experience and training on IP/Ethernet networks, telecommunications switching, voice and data network design, network provisioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven record of previous experience in the design, deployment, and/or maintenance of an enterprise or carrier grade Ethernet and TDM networks.
  • Good understanding of the PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network) and VoIP
  • Server, Database, and software development experience.
  • Industry vendor (Cisco, Juniper, Calix, Microsoft, Linux, Metaswitch, Adtran, etc.) training and/or certification preferred.
