West Tennessee Healthcare is Hiring a Purchasing Manager Near Martin, TN
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures and processes for purchasing contracts.
- Forecasting of procurement needs when necessary.
- Responsible for recruiting/hiring, supervision, disciplines, coaching, professional development and evaluation of all purchasing employees.
- Tracks and evaluates purchasing activity and measurements and prepares reports for the Executive Director of Supply Chain Management.
- Trains Contract Managers in accordance with best purchasing standards.
- Manages vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
- Leads the department in developing negotiation strategies for all purchasing contracts.
- Approves systems for purchasing and inventory control methods.
- Coordinates and works with clinical areas and physicians to standardize products and services for cost effectiveness.
- Prioritizes work assignments, activities and management of the purchasing department.
- Recommends new approaches, policy and procedures to affect continuous improvements in efficiency of department and services provided.
- Effectively utilizes technology to obtain, store and analyze purchasing data.
- Leads and manages special purchasing projects as directed by the Executive Director of Supply Chain Management.
- Ensures that all purchasing staff adheres and complies with state and federal purchasing laws and WTH policies and procedures.
- Manages relationship with all levels of leadership within WTH.
- Responsible for Purchasing Department Budget.
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and handles claims against suppliers.
- Reviews, evaluates and approves specifications for issuing contracts.
- Prepare reports regarding supply conditions and supply costs.
- Arrange for disposal of surplus equipment and materials.
- Responsible for overseeing quality supplier quality issues.
