West Tennessee Healthcare is Hiring a Network Engineer III Near Jackson, TN

Overview

Demonstrates proficiency in project management; demonstrates proficiency in the use of project management tools. Participates in or provides leadership in WAN/LAN design selection and evaluation process in coordination with functional departments (areas). May develop request for proposals and be involved in pre-contract negotiation of information systems. Facilitates the development of WAN/LAN documentation to include relevant P&P relating to security, integrity and functional areas of a system. Collaborates with HealthCare professionals using automation to ensure appropriate, effective usage and understanding of WAN/LAN applications within West Tennessee Healthcare. Demonstrates proficiency as an WAN/LAN developer. Install, upgrade, configure and support enterprise-wide WAN/LAN equipment. Evaluate, configure develop and test network and systems application software to insure proper functionality at the network infrastructure level. Develop and provide ongoing WAN/LAN security monitoring to safeguard patient data. Deploy and maintain Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. Provide reporting on data aggregation and correlation of all cyber events from various network sensors, continuous monitoring tools, system and audit logs, and other alerting and reporting systems into a Security Information and Event management (SIEM) platform to provide notification of cyber activity. Provide real-time analysis of security alerts generated by application and network hardware. Under the direction of the Information Security and Network Manager, responsible for assigned shift as scheduled and for responding to problems 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements I.S. applications using project management. Completes phases of the project including analysis, design of tables and files, report formats and matrices, testing, user training, documentation, implementation and follow up.

Analyzes and completes I.S. maintenance activities and end user change requests.

Investigates, analyzes and resolves I.S. user and system problems.

Cross train in deploying, monitoring, analyzing and reporting cyber events from the Security Information and Event Management platform (SIEM).

Contribute to positive team environment.

Develop inter-departmental relationships.

Ability to give formal presentations at all levels.

Mentor Network Engineers.

Actively contribute to functional teams.

Perform cost analysis and feasibility studies.

Actively supports the six pillars of the organization: High Quality Healthcare; High Quality Customer Service; Financial Strength; Community Value; Employee Satisfaction; Ethics and Compliance.

Completing all hospital-wide orientation, complying with policies, and accepting personal responsibility for mandatory in-service requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

Certifications preferred but not required: CISSP, CISM, CCNA, CCNP, GSEC or other related security certification (may be acquired during the first year of employment as a Network Engineer III – refer to policy # 3900 for specific requirements).

EXPERIENCE:

Six plus years of work experience with knowledge of networks and information security. Four years with SIEM tools
