West 4th Strategy is Hiring a Program Specialist Near Fort Hood, TX

ROLE

We need an experienced Program Specialist to the US Army prevent and reduce suicides among soldiers and civilians. You will work closely with the Program Director to pursue and achieve strategic objectives and improve resiliency and wellness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support III Corps and Fort Hood Ready and Resilient (R2) Director
  • Support all Resiliency Readiness and wellness issues within or affecting the command
  • Focus on Fort Hood Commander’s strategic initiative for suicide prevention
  • Support the Commander’s Ready and Resilient Council (CR2C)
  • Serve as liaison with US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), Major Subordinate Commands (MSC), and Fort Hood tenant units with both Command Teams and Ready and Resilient Leaders
  • Gather and analyze data on suicide related issues, specifically solider and civilian suicides throughout III Corps
  • Work on special research, analytical, and writing project associated with at-risk behaviors
  • Develop and update the suicide database, as appropriate
  • Analyze and report performance metrics
  • Help prepare briefings and presentations
  • Attend Fatality Review Boards (FRB) sessions on military fatality incidents,
  • Analyze, report, and coordinate trend data and lessons learned
  • Help prepare guidance to assist MSCs in preventing suicides
  • Maintain relationships with Suicide Prevention Program points of contact at all MSCs, installations, and other commands
  • Collaborate with other key stakeholders, e.g., Chaplain, Provost Marshal, Safety, Surgeon, etc.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, well-coordinated programs aimed at eliminating or reducing suicides
  • Maintain close stakeholder relationships to ensure all suicides are tracked and lessons learned are shared
  • Assist R2 Director with program management
  • Help plan, implement, and manage III Corps R2 Program
  • Provide technical recommendations and consultation
  • Help develop, interpret, and apply R2 standards
  • Work with R2 Director and community resiliency councils
  • Help build resiliency and wellness programs
  • Work towards strategic objectives and resiliency priorities
  • Use SharePoint and the Army’s various databases and systems
  • Support, document, and assess subordinate command needs and risk factors
  • Help improve personnel readiness across the enterprise
  • Help identify capability and resource gaps

Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
