Schedule: Full-Time; Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Learning and Development Mgr. is responsible for coordinating and supporting training programs to include equity, diversity, and inclusion. Working closely with organizational leaders, this position will determine areas for employee improvement and develop training courses or implement pre-existing courses and track employee performance providing a culture of training excellence and increased employee tenure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion program at the communities. When necessary, create training materials. Conduct workshops or webinars at for all employees.
  • Work closely with the Leadership Consultant to ensure Leadership training is coordinated at the communities and outcomes are measured.
  • Work through the goals and objectives of the Workforce Development Plan part of the Wesley Woods Strategic Plan. Review current training programs and identify gaps where employee or leadership training would be needed.
  • Look for innovative ways in which career pathing or laddering contribute to employee retention. Research training opportunities.
  • Create a corporate wide calendar of training that features areas of continuous Leadership, Customer Service and Life Skills training. Schedule additional training programs as necessary.
  • Work with the Director of Communication/Marketing to create a gold standard training program that could be marketed to prospective employees and possibly other senior living communities (Wesley Woods University)
  • Manage Relias (LMS) and assist employees with compliance. Create yearly modules for various groups (Caregivers, Dining, Environmental Services, etc.).
  • Create a sense of excitement around learning new skills to increase employee engagement. Look for areas where retention might be an issue and address them with Leadership.
  • Understand compliance education regulations for certified positions (CNAs) and work with community RSMs and DONs to assist with keeping employees current.
  • Perform other related duties as required to include support of the HR Department and department initiatives.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years with experience in coordinating corporate training programs, direct experience in equity, diversity, and inclusion training a plus.
  • BA or BS Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, Industrial Psychology or relevant work experience.
  • Proven track record dealing with organizational adoption of new tools and processes which require behavioral and cultural change.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills as well as knowledge of adult learning and classroom management strong program and project management skills.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate teaching
  • Proficient in MS Office products (PowerPoint), e-learning software
  • Organization and time management abilities
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time (own vehicle) to communities across North Georgia
