Lockstep is looking for a dynamic, high-performing Account Executive to serve our SLED (State & Local Government and Education) customers. You will be responsible for managing and building a base of business and proactively reaching out to ensure client satisfaction/retention while continuously hunting and closing new business. The ideal candidate has a history of bringing on new business and hitting sales quotas, the ability to manage large, diverse accounts, and loves the challenges that come in a competitive market. 

What you’ll own 

  • Creating detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas 
  • Managing the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal 
  • Using prescribed sales methodology to enable navigation or complex organizations to complete sales 
  • Unearthing new sales opportunities through networking and prospecting and then turning them into long-term partnerships 
  • Presenting solutions to prospective clients 
  • Working hard to ensure happy customers as their true technology partner 
  • Coordinating resources to assist customers in developing and implementing their IT strategy 
  • Working with and developing strong relationships with manufacturers (vendors) to jointly pursue end-user business 
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge in order to provide value to your client base 
  • Accurately forecast your business and maintain the CRM 
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What we’re looking for 

  • Ability to travel 50-65% 
  • Experience with consultative selling 
  • Have proven experience as a high-performing individual contributor selling managed and/or professional services 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to build strong relationships 
  • Good organizational and time-management skills 
  • Attention to detail/excellent follow-up 
  • Proactively drive business 
  • Must professionally represent Lockstep Technology Group 
  • The ability to work in a technical environment and able to communicate with technical people
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate

What you need to have 

  • SLED sales experience
  • Experience selling Aruba or Extreme
  • Experience with a Value Added Reseller (VAR) organization
