As a Supply Chain Planner you will be responsible for all Inventory Forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their respective business units, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Category Management, Suppliers, Operations and Suppliers. The Planner is the integration point into the Sales and Commercial organization. Responsible to build, maintain, and evolve demand and supply models leveraging advanced a suite of planning applications. This position leads the dialogue cadence for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales, Category Management, Operations and other business partners. The objective of this role is to balance Service, Cost and Working Capital.
D* *escription:
- Maintains a constant relationship with the sales, category management, finance, sourcing and operations teams to lead and influence standard planning process, including maintenance of demand forecasting drivers. Influence and communicate inventory strategies and trade-offs (Service, Cost, Working Capital) to business partners and lead optimization efforts
- Develop Demand/ Supply forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function through historical review of sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Manage key customer project/ program inventory models including stock allocations and reservations to Identify current and potential product shortages, product cost changes or other constraints to develop, execute and communicate recovery plans.
- Identify and implement improvements (tune) demand / supply forecasts leveraging advanced statistical forecasting and applications and updates of the Supply Chain Planning tools which are measured and actioned with KPI's. Lead cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions. Ensure objective measurement of usefulness of demand from sales teams and the usual runs (historical data, seasonality, market trends, special offers, budgets...) with relevant data analysis.
- Advance existing Planning tools (Legacy ERP's, Blue Yonder) to increase user adoption, modeling techniques in support of mid to long range planning for both stock and complex project business models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Supply Chain Certifications, ISM, APICS preferred.
- 3 to 5 of demonstrated experience in Demand / Supply planning or Inventory Management
- Demonstrated experience knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as Sales and Operations Planning, MRP, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, Indirect Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics.
- Experience with supply chain applications for Planning, Inventory Optimization and Network Design (Blue Yonder, JDA, Tools Group, O9, Oracle, SAP, SAS, APO)
- 1-3 years of experience using Blue Yonder for Planning strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and support skills. Ability to explain complex concepts and analytics to non-technical audience. Translate user requirements into actionable data.
- Aptitude for blending quantitative and qualitative data to tell relevant story
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritize and handle many projects at once with ever shifting priorities and deadlines with ability to track and manage progress.
- A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others and can lead cross functional teams to drive for best results in environment with competing objectives.
