The RN Central Logistics Center is a professional nurse who functions under the direction of the Supervisor RN Central Logistics. RN Central Logistics is responsible for shift operations including patient bed assignments, clinical expert and resource for patient logistics and decision making. The RN Central Logistics manages throughput through triage of patient placements from all points of entry, including but not limited to ER, OR PACU, Cath Lab, Direct Admits, internal and external transfers, and outside hospitals. The RN Central Logistics has responsibility of standards of practice, interpreting system and department policies and procedures and ensuring quality patient care and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. The RN Central Logistics is responsible for patient/customer satisfaction and appropriate reporting. RN Central Logistics is responsible for coordinating department functions with the operations of other hospital departments to maximize throughput and interdepartmental efficiency. The RN Central Logistics will have the clinical knowledge and ability to critically think through complex problems and appropriately place patients. All Central Logistics communications and functions will follow EMTALA guidelines and ensure that the transfer process ensures a safe and seamless acceptance of patients into the Wellstar Health System.It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. And other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program or equivalent required.Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.Required Minimum Experience: 2 year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting required.Required Minimum Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). BLS certification is required at the time of hire.Required Minimum Skills: Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. Works well with others in a collaborative, team-focused, patient centered way. Communicates effectively both orally and in written form with all levels of internal and external resources. Analytical skills necessary to solve technical and clinical challenges. Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence and credibility in guiding the decision-making process Computer/data entry experience. Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge. Epic and 3M experience preferred.
