Job Description

The person in this role must possess excellent customer service skills, a passion for interacting with and developing meaningful relationships with our elderly residents, and a positive approach to encouraging their involvement in scheduled activities.

Requirements:

• Education: Associates Degree in health or recreation related field
• Experience: Ideal candidate would have at least two (2) years previous experience working in a long term care facility. Candidate would have experience working with the senior population and residents with varying abilities.
• Skills: Ability to plan and organize a variety of programs for groups of various sizes and speak effectively before groups of various sizes.

Job Description:

• Develop, Plan, organize, and implement wellness and activity programs to meet the specific needs of residents.
• Provide programs and events that encourage engagement and socialization for residents.
• Plan the monthly activities calendar in a timely manner.
• Encourage resident involvement in activities programs.
• Ensure activity programs meet all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Plan joint activities between units monthly and larger community-wide activities throughout the year.
• Attend outings as needed.
• Oversee and mentor all Recreation Assistants.
