WDD Screener (Business Services Team) is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Yucca Valley, CA

Desert Regional Tourism Agency the non -profit organization that manages the California Welcome Center in Yucca Valley is looking for an operations manager.
Outgoing energic person needed to oversee day to day operations of welcome center. You will be the face of the organization, reporting to board of directors.
An excellent candidate is an influential manager with ability to lead and motivate. The manager is responsible for overseeing programs, and strategic planning of the organization. Other key duties, include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. Local resident a plus experience in tourism and hospitality industry a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

Schedule, facilitate, and prepare agenda for monthly board and committee meetings.

Supervise, collaborate with staff and volunteers.

Interview and screen potential new volunteers and staff

Strategic planning and implementation.

Planning and operation of annual budget.

Serve as spokesperson to the organization's constituents, the media, and the public.

Establish and manage relationships with all outside vendors, contractors, government agencies, stakeholders, and public and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance business.

Engage in fundraising and developing other revenues.

Oversee marketing and other communications efforts.

Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit and all other human resource needs.

Attend in person quarterly meetings with Visit California

Comply with Visit California marketing and branding policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned by Board of Directors.

Professional Qualifications Needed

  • Proven experience in management and Human Resources position.
  • Travel and hospitality industry experience a plus
  • BA or AA in a related field of study or tenured job experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts, formulate top line goals and project bottom line results as well as produce and understand financial statements associated with the operation.
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization's strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and partners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission to partners, volunteers, and the overall community.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
  • Email marketing & ad design layout a plus
  • Social media experience a plus.
  • Local resident a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
