Accounts Payable Specialist The Accounts Payable Specialist is a member of the Finance Team and reports to the Controller. The ideal candidate will have 2 years Accounts Payable experience, strong organizational and communication skills and have an ability to accurately track and record payables. The AP Specialist has individual accountability and ownership of the full cycle accounts payable process and will follow procedures and maintain an understanding of the flow of transactions. What You Will Do:Review and record invoices from vendors daily to ensure accuracy in billing.Monitors A/P inbox and process and responds to requests timely.Reviewing invoices for appropriate GL coding and approvals.Files all AP payments weekly.Applies payment timely to AP transactions, understanding payment terms relevant to each vendor.Prepares weekly payment runs for AP disbursements.Process expense reports from employees; reviews for accruals and proper documentation.Opening and distribution of mail, scanning and emailing invoices daily.Resolution of accounts payable issues with vendors and staff with the ability to respond both quickly and effectively.Support month-end processing.Assists in annual financial audit and UFR reporting.Assisting with IRS 1099 compliance and reporting.Skilled in communicating to both internal and external customers.Provide consistent professional customer service with Wayside Welcome principles to staff and external vendors.Troubleshoot errors and unique transaction in the Accounting Systems.Work with employees and customers to ensure access to appropriate accounting systems and approval routing.Other tasks as directed by management.Competencies/Traits of Our Superstars: Demonstrates the ability to learn new technology with ease.Continually improves technical proficiency.Demonstrates flexibility and creative thinking (i.e., ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations, processes, and procedures).Managing vendors and internal “customers” with a high level of customer service.Demonstrates beginner Excel skills (i.e., create templates/tracking sheets).Build and maintain relationships with staff.Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines consistently.Minimum Requirements:Associate's degree preferred.1 - 2 years of experience in Accounting or related field.Strong understanding of General Ledger system and Accounts Payable processing.Strong organizational, analytical and recording skills.Experience in ERP systems.Detail oriented.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.We will train you in: Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Trauma Informed Practice
