Job Description Summary The Operations Manager will be accountable for developing and executing the business plan for the Drains Operations. Provide vision and guidance to help grow the business and have overall supervisory responsibility for all of the operations providing leadership and fostering an atmosphere of teamwork, safety and continuous improvement. Job Description PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, establishes production priorities Executes safe work practices as the highest priority with focus on ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of product, machines, or equipment in order to improve the quality of the product Works with Management on operational budget for business improvements, production improvements, headcount, etc. Provides leadership and strategies required to develop a culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, quality and meeting customer requirements Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods Act as a mentor for other supervisors and leaders in the organization Communicate between departmental areas and other departments to implement best practices, resolve problems and sustain consistent performance Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing principles Provides input to research and development of new and emerging products Maintains fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, establishes production priorities Executes safe work practices as the highest priority with focus on ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of product, machines, or equipment in order to improve the quality of the product Works with Management on operational budget for business improvements, production improvements, headcount, etc. Provides leadership and strategies required to develop a culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, quality and meeting customer requirements Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods Act as a mentor for other supervisors and leaders in the organization Communicate between departmental areas and other departments to implement best practices, resolve problems and sustain consistent performance Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing principles Provides input to research and development of new and emerging products Maintains fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of 10 years related experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing organization MANAGEMENT: Direct Reports: 5 Ensure company policies are followed Enforce company safety policies EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others A detail oriented person with a strong customer focus and ability to listen to the voice of the customer Understand the needs of the business to ensure success and drive continued growth Proficiency in team building and ability to create an environment that promotes leadership and accountability Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization Demonstrated high level analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems that are unique and diverse Watts is committed to equal employment opportunity.
