Watt's Electric is Hiring a Project Estimator Near Waverly, NE

Watts Electric Company is a Nebraska based Electrical Contractor doing business in the Midwest. Watts Electric specializes in traffic signals, roadway and ornamental lighting, high mast towers and signage, airport lighting, directional boring, substations, powerline construction, fiber optics, generators and much more.

Position Summary: Estimators are responsible for the overall bid process and ensuring timeliness throughout that process.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain the overall project schedule including ensuring the weekly schedule meetings are held and information shared to all stakeholders.
  • Execute the overall bid process and ensure bids are submitted prior to deadlines.
  • Ensure bonding company and owners are aware of large projects at least two weeks ahead of bid dates to ensure no issues with bidding.
  • Review of bids to be submitted and provide input on market pulse and competition to determine profit margins on bids.
  • Provide high level overview of project, challenges and factors leading to adjustment of standard labor and equipment rates.
  • Ensure document control is being maintained regularly.
  • Provide client service on new work – capabilities, appropriate contacts, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience in estimating construction projects.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience estimating commercial or utility line.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, use hand to finger, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function of the position.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to indoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
