Waste Connections US is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Florida, FL

Job Title Equipment Operator Primary Location Lake Panasoffkee, Florida Employee Type Employee Job Description We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join the team at Heart of Florida Landfill in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but willing to train the right candidate. The position is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week. Pay Range for this position is $18-$20 DOE. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform Maintenance around the site and facilities as needed Spreading and compacting trash using a Compactor Spreading daily cover using a Dozer Excavating soil using an Excavator Hauling soil WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily Able to work outside in all weather conditions Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly Apply today and Connect with Your Future!
