A little bit about our team: WMX Creative Services is a global full-service merchandise art department that offers creative direction and support for WMG licensed artists and labels. We strive to enhance all areas of the business by providing concepts and expertise in design, visualization, and content to continuously match the evolution of the merchandise industry. Your role: The Art Director is responsible for solidifying the vision of WMG, it’s artist and their respective management teams. He/She will oversee overall visual appearance, collaborating with various departments as well as the artists/managers and how it communicates visually and psychologically to fans. The Art Director will facilitate the overall brand identity in relation to merchandise with brainstorming, directing, and creating artwork that is consistent with the artist’s vision Here you’ll get to: You will creatively direct all aspects of design and product development from concept through production. You will work directly with artists, labels, and management to ensure that the artist vision is executed. Also requiring in-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in design as well as printing techniques You will oversee the in-house design staff. You will creatively guide their output and manage their workflow to ensure the highest-level product You will establish practices and streamline processes for simplifying workflow and maximizing resources You will be responsible for identifying and establishing partnerships with fresh freelance talent. You will also negotiate rates on behalf of the artist or label. You will create merchandise presentations for projects (tour, retail, web). This involves collecting both in-house and outsourced art, creating mock-ups and presenting comps based upon the product line. About you: You have 5 years of professional experience in merchandise Art Direction preferably in the music industry You have the ability to think creatively and strategically You must be able to understand consumer demographics for each artist You have strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to articulate the rationale that underlie any design concept You have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously You enjoy attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines You have comprehensive understanding of current and emerging design trends and printing techniques specifically related to apparel and other merchandise related products We’d love it if you also had: Bachelor's Degree in design or related field preferred Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Microsoft (Excel.
