Reports to: Technical Support Manager

Position Overview

The Technician Specialist will lead the segment in terms of product line knowledge in NA. This position will travel a good deal of the time across the country and must be located near a major airport, but will also have office space in Twinsburg, OH when not traveling for projects. The specialist will be the main point of contact to support our Service Teams and Technicians within the Access Solutions and Airports product lines. We are looking for experienced installers who have mechanical, and low voltage (Control) experience and knowledge of networking. *Looking in the NE Ohio area and must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the product line segment in terms of product knowledge and service capabilities in NA.
  • Works closely with our engineering teams, PMO group, Research and Development (R&D), and Product Management group to ensure knowledge transfer to the field.
  • “On-Call” to support our field technician teams via phone to quickly troubleshoot issues.
  • Be able to lead installation teams and represent Wanzl on site to our customers in a professional way
  • Travel up to 5*_0%*_ of the time, manage travel bookings and expenses according to Company policy.
  • Supervise and Train others (internal and external) on Wanzl products, servicing and installing them.
  • Work with the training specialists to develop product line specific programs and materials to drive quality of installations, services and repairs.
  • Ability to capture complete and thorough details on installations for appropriate signoffs, close out, and internal files.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and via written communications
  • Work with Service Operations and PMO to create and update workflow processes and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years relative experience in installations/technical control trouble shooting work.
  • AS in Engineering or 5 years related experience
  • Retail Experience with installation of shelving, railings, access systems and more.
  • Experienced in training a network of field service technicians.
  • Experience with frequent travel, interstate, to conduct work.
  • Proficient with Email and mobile apps to complete/capture work
  • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
