The work - How you will contribute: We are currently seeking an Intern for our Development Team and work a 20 hours/week schedule with most, if not all, of your time working at our corporate headquarters in New Albany. In accordance with the Wallick Mission and Values, the Development Intern will learn and participate in the predevelopment and development processes for multifamily housing developments in the Midwest. Essential Growth Areas: Your internship will provide the opportunity to learn and grow in these areas: Address development projects from a largely micro perspective.Navigate the tax credit application process.Understand critical path within each project timeline; assemble and update project schedules.Due diligence on targeted sites in pre-development stage of projects.Assist Development Managers in development department communication with construction business line to ensure that pre-construction survey, engineering and architectural tasks are seamless within conceptual project timeline.Ability to analyze and interpret reports relating to market, environmental, planning, and demographics. Understanding interactions with Planning Commission, City Council, BZA, and other municipal functionsInvolvement in other related areas as assigned. About You:Junior in Bachelor’s program or further (prefer Business Development, City and Regional Planning, Finance or Public Policy) Analytical, critical thinking, organization, problem resolution and decision-making skills required. Basic competency utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Physical Demands: Position requires general office work (sitting, standing); manual dexterity needed for computer work with keyboard and mouse; requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing. Work Environment: Position requires work to be performed in an office setting at corporate headquarters or from a remote home-based office. Extensive use of a computer and keyboard required.
