Paws for Walks Chicago is looking for an experienced Pet Care Professional servicing the downtownareas such as: Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Old town, Gold Coast, River North, Streeterville, Loop, South Loop. He/she will visit the homes of clients to take dogs out for exercise and, on occasion, provide their meals and meds as needed.

The ideal person for this position understands the safety and priority of the animals in their care. He/she should be an independent and reliable self-starter with lots of energy and a passion for dogs.

This position works well for

Servers, artists, drivers of many sorts, retail workers, dog trainers, college students, musicians, tutors, and fit retirees.

Duties

Walking, feeding, watering, and keeping dogs safe and secure.

Take on a dog walking route in a PFWC Service Area.

Communicating via smartphone using our company app.

Walking your regularly scheduled doggie friends on your route from 9 am until 5 pm Monday through Friday .

Some essential job requirements

• US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US
• 21 years of age or older
• Able to pass a background check
• Local full-time resident of our service area
• Comfortable handling both large and small dogs
• Able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
• Able to commit to this position for nine months from the date of hire
• Available all weekdays from 9am am to 5 pm
• Comfortable walking in various elements, such as rain, snow, and hot weather
• Possess your own reliable transportation
• Have a smartphone with a strong data plan
• *Must be 21 years of age or older and live within walking distance or short public transportation to Downtown Chicago.

How Much Can I Make?

You will be paid starting $18 an hour with the ability to move up. You also receive tips. A new walker can expect to start off earning $300-$550 per week with room for increased earnings as more clients are assigned to your route plus tips!

Responsibilities:

• Providing consistent care and enriching playtime whether inside with cats or outside on walks with dogs for the full duration of the service time.

• Prepare the dog(s) per household to go outside with the appropriate gear provided by the client.

• Provide food, water, and medication as instructed by the client.

• Picking up after pets outside on walks, scooping litter, and cleaning up any accidents in the home.

• Be willing to commute to PFWC service areas. If you have a car for commuting, that would be a plus!
