Human Resources Specialist Role Overview:

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for overseeing all HR generalist functions for the Ministry. This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure WWP compliance with all Human Resources and legal requirements and advise management on best practices for Human Resources
  • Manage employee relations, conflicts, and investigations
  • Recruit new employees as needed. This includes the creation of Scorecards, Job Descriptions, and timelines
  • Onboard new hires following the WWP process
  • Support managers on performing the first 90-day evaluation, after the Initial Employment Period is over
  • Oversee off-boarding of employees and perform exit interviews
  • Work with leadership on Ministry wide personnel announcements 
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives and ad-hoc projects
  • Keep the WWP Employee Manual and WWP company calendar updated
  • Be the point person for the HRIS system (BambooHR)
  • Oversee twice yearly employee performance review process
  • Manage WWP salary bands and pay grades with the CEO
  • Create and manage the HR department budget
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Board of Directors on the status of current HR initiatives 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Professional certification preferred (SHRM, PHR/HRCI)
  • Expertise in core Human Resources functions, including benefits administration, compliance, leave management, compensation, and employee relations
  • Previous experience in working with a HRIS and Applicant Tracking System is required
  • High level of proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
  • Previous experience in working with Google Workspace is a plus
  • Outstanding communicator, who is comfortable working with many different departments daily
  • An analytical thinker who can use data to determine success metrics and measure impact
