Walden Savings Bank is Hiring a Branch Operations Manager Near Pine Bush, NY

Overview

Responsible for multiple branch functions in all phases of branch operations and employee management. Provides leadership, operational guidance and ongoing operational training and development of the staff. Provides support towards sales activities and the achievement of branch goals by identifying cross-sell opportunities and referral of customers to appropriate business partners. Responsible to conduct the job duties of the Sales and Service Manager in their absence.

Reports to Area Retail Manager

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall branch operations. Maintains up to date knowledge of branch security including all branch policies and procedures, cash levels, teller differences, quality of audit reports, daily, monthly and quarterly branch proof and outstanding cash items. Performs a higher level of customer services, including but not limited to opening new accounts, processing of loan applications and complex customer inquiries. Explains available products and services while gathering customer information utilizing the needs based sales approach.
  • Ensures optimum branch customer service by monitoring and adjusting staff schedules based on transaction volume while managing the use of overtime. Ensures accurate processing of transactions including savings, loan and checking. Including but not limited to bond redemption, cash advances and safe deposit box payments.
  • Promotes products and services by referring customers to the appropriate business partners based on customer needs and captures interactions using our customer relations management software this includes but is not limited to loan, business and investment services.
  • Responsible for on the job operational training and development of the branch staff. Provides staff timely individual performance feedback given through regular one-on-one meetings.
  • Completes monthly branch and teller audits, ensuring compliance with branch policies and procedures. Creates branch budget, monitors expenditures and recognizes opportunities to streamline and improve branch operations.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications

Experience

Four to seven years’ experience in financial institution operating policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal), employee development, and public relations.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined education and work experience A Notary License is required

Interpersonal Skills

Has supervisory/managerial responsibilities over a branch or small to medium sized department. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff, typically with a subordinate group of up to 15 employees. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy. Can include department heads with no staff.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
