Role Summary: Embedded Lead Software Engineer is responsible for design, coding and testing of locomotive system embedded applications. This role will perform design reviews and release software following Wabtec software process and guidelines. Essential Responsibilities: Design, implement, test and release software, ensuring quality specifications are met Document software design and write test plans. Resolve software issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions Perform design and code reviews in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines Work cross-functionally with systems engineering, product management, simulation, verification, validation, and electronic hardware teams Mentor junior team members assigned to your project teams. Ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering 5 years of relevant experience in software development. 3 years of experience as an Embedded Software Engineer Hands on experience in Python, Shell scripting, C and exposure with C programming or similar language Design and development experience with at least one embedded and real-time software systems (Linux, QNX, RTOS, MQX, Greenhill, Mentor Nucleus) Preferred Qualifications: Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering Exposure with Device Driver, Hardware software interface development on RTOS or Linux platform Some knowledge of Matlab/Simulink Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. Experience with one of the following processors - Xilinx, ARM, PPC, Intel, K60 Exposure to Serial, Arcnet and Ethernet based communications standards #LI-JR1 Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
