Summary: The Director, Enterprise Architecture will develop and lead the strategy, roadmap, and implementation plan for a renewed Enterprise Architecture function. This includes the management, day-to-day running of the EA practice, defining the advisory process and architecture review and governance. This role will report to the office of the CIO. Duties and Responsibilities: Work across business functions and the IT team to understand our current environment and articulate our current state architecture Establish working processes to support changes to that architecture, handling risk while ensuring speedy progress Understand Wabtec's strategic objectives and formulate target architecture to support the desired outcomes while ensuring it adheres to global Enterprise Architecture standards and direction Lead and facilitate interaction with business leaders, project managers, application owners, and technology leaders in a business-driven conversation about benefits, risks and implications of technology decisions Provide expertise, influence, guidance and mentorship to delivery teams and technical architects. Support and develop technical leadership capabilities across our delivery teams Identify critical skills, competencies and career paths for EA team members and identifies training to help them develop and progress in their careers Stay up to date with innovations and changes in enterprise technology, the industry and within Wabtec. Make pragmatic, evidence-based recommendations on their applicability to our business Assess disruptive forces impacting the organization and identify technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable business strategy Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 4 years directly leading enterprise level programs related to Information architecture and governance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Maintains excitement for a process and drives to new directions of meeting the goal in the face of unfavorable odds and setbacks Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence effectively with both internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative solutions to complex problems, understanding potential impacts to processes and related IT systems supporting the company Effectively handle ambiguity in all aspects of work, including business direction and strategy Proven track record of setting targets, executing a plan, and delivering results Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions Physical Demands: Frequently communicating with others to exchange information Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods Frequently repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers Frequently assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Work Environment: The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable environmental elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Occasional travel to manufacturing environments where exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and potentially hazardous condition.
