Job Purpose/Scope: To meet the demands and complete customer orders in a timely, accurate and safe manner; repairing and fitting large steel castings meeting customer and internal requirements. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: Weld, grind and fit castings to specifications (i.e. repair steel surfaces as required) Attain welding certification(s) per internal and customer requirements. Read and interpret drawings and verify casting specifications by use of measurement equipment (i.e. digital calipers, tape measure, thickness gauge, depth gauge, etc.) Follow written instructions per required processing requirements. Maintain shop equipment and related welding / fabrication tools Report inventory needs ensuring adequate materials are available. Operate overhead crane and forklift Work overtime as needed to achieve production requirements Works with all functions to ensure achievement of the company’s quality objectives.
