What will your job look like?
You will be part of an exceptional, highly experienced, motivated and dedicated team of administrators and engineers who demonstrate advanced architectural technical competency, delivering and maintaining globalized critical infrastructure ensuring 24/7 365 availability, assurance of effective performance and adherence to an array of security protocols.
Qualified candidates will require an extensive background across several technology disciplines including systems engineering, analysis, implementation, storage, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will be a member of an ongoing weekly “on-call” rotation, during which you will be the first line of escalation in the event of an issue impacting operations after hours and/or holidays. A candidate with a history of supporting large scale media operations is preferred.
Role and Responsibilities
Provide management, monitoring and troubleshooting across a global ecosystem, deploying and supporting enterprise grade level solutions and toolsets.
Provision and maintain, storage, network, virtual server, physical server and desktop infrastructure, proprietary application software, 3rd party application software and system management tools, spanning across multiple operating systems and both physical and cloud environments.
Implement, analyze and support enterprise grade managed and unmanaged tiered storage infrastructure.
Deploy and manage enterprise grade data transfer toolsets such as Aspera Enterprise, Faspex and Signiant MediaShuttle.
Proactively identify, analyze and solve issues within the infrastructure which could degrade system availability and stability.
Monitor and troubleshoot application performance, working with developers to test and deploy fixes.
Support several remote console applications including Splashtop and RemotePC on both Windows and MacOS devices.
Analyze and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity and backup strategies; investigate and provide solutions for improvements.
Write and maintain custom scripts and APIs to increase system efficiency.
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Assist ticket escalations from lower support tiers.
Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders for problem identification and resolution.
Provide guidance and support to other team members for cross training and knowledge sharing.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
Extensive and confident experience with Windows/Macintosh/Linux/UNIX ecosystems, including Windows Server, CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu and MacOS.
Detailed understanding and ability in deploying, troubleshooting and supporting virtual infrastructure including VMWare ESXi, vSphere and Horizon, Microsoft Hyper-V and MacOS localized desktop virtualization.
Deep and wide experience with both managed and unmanaged tiered enterprise grade storage solutions, preferably Quantum.
Practice with enterprise grade data transfer solutions such as IBM Aspera and Signiant toolsets.
Previous work with Dell and/or HP enterprise grade hardware and monitoring tools, including iLO and iDRAC.
Exposure to application and systems monitoring application stacks including AppDynamics, NGINX, CheckMK, ELK and SolarWinds.
Knowledge and understanding of basic networking foundations (OSI Layers, TCP/IP) and best practices. Previous experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto networking infrastructure and tools preferred.
Familiarity of information security best practices and policies; experience with industry standard information security tools and services including Qualys, SecureWorks, Britive, LogRhythm, Crowdstrike, Imperva, McAfee and RSA MFA or similar systems.
Experience with automated patching and maintenance software including WSUS, Puppet, Spacewalk, SALT, RPM Package Manager and Ansible. Previous work in supporting code repository platforms including GitHub and BitBucket.
Marked experience in supporting cloud infrastructure and storage solutions in AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Ability to effectively and quickly troubleshoot support incidents, including those which require remote assistance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
